Three powertrains are offered with the Jaecoo 7: a petrol variant, a self-charging hybrid (Jaecoo 7 SHS-H) and plug-in hybrid (Jaecoo 7 SHS-P).
Of particular interest is the SHS-H, which combines a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a 1.83kWh battery that provides zero emission, electric-only driving at start up and low speeds – such as stop-start city-based driving – for significantly improved fuel economy of over 51mpg.
As well as assuring a more refined driving experience in urban environments, it achieved all of this without the requirement of having to be plug it in.

Jaecoo 8 Taxi
The newest addition to the Jaecoo line-up, the top-of-the-range Jaecoo 8 is a six or seven seat plug-in hybrid SUV (PHEV) that puts luxury and practicality at the forefront of its appeal.
Blending the appealing stylish cues of the 7 into a larger package, the Jaecoo 8 is distinguished by its variation of the signature ‘waterfall’ grille on the outside, not to mention its on road presence in terms of size.

Two trims levels are offered – the seven-seat Luxury and the six-seat Executive.
Whichever you choose there is 110-litres of boot space with the rearmost row in place, but converting the 8 into a five-seater sees this increase to a vast 738-litres.
Available as a plug-in hybrid only, the Jaecoo 8 features the firm’s ‘Super Hybrid System’ (SHS) which marries a 1.5-litre engine with a large 34.6kWh battery.
It means the Jaecoo 8 taxi can travel further on electric power alone than nearly ever PHEV rival right now, going as far as 80-miles without emitting a single emission (WLTP), while fuel economy is quoted at 57.6mpg combined.
