Treat your Taxi to Some Love with these TLC Tips

Treat your Taxi to Some Love with these TLC Tips

Valentine’s Day is upon us once more and that means love is very much in the air – but don’t just leave the romance and gifting to your loved up fares on the day, why not show your taxi a bit of care and attention too.

Indeed, Valentine’s Day is bound to be a busy one for taxi drivers as they transport couples that have left the kids at home to enjoy an intimate dinner and take the opportunity to treat themselves to one, two or a few glasses of wine.

But just because you’re on call on the most romantic day of the year, doesn’t mean you won’t be with a special on Valentine’s Day.

So, here are some top tips on how to show some love and give your taxi some TLC too...

Give Your Taxi a Proper Valet

Is there anything more satisfying than a gleaming car? To really ensure your car pops on the taxi rank, don’t just settle for a simple run through the car wash, book a proper valet to get it looking like new.

Not only will a valet get the bodywork sparkling and the wheels as new, the interior will feel plusher and more inviting. It might even get those pesky crumbs out of the nooks and crannies that you can’t reach.

Alternatively, invest in the use of the steam cleaner yourself to show off your best moves.

Buy Your Taxi Some Perfume or Air-Freshener

Who doesn’t like a new bottle of perfume as a gift on Valentine’s Day? Well, your taxi might need it more than most, so investigate ways to remove odours from the cabin.

This could be as simple as investing in an air-freshener, such as an odour neutralizer, but if you really want to channel Kim and Aggie, put out some baking soda to allow any errant smells to be absorbed before giving it a good vacuum.

Get Your Taxi Organised

A tidy taxi is a happy taxi and since it also doubles as your office, look into ways of getting it organised. This could include sorting out the glovebox or making sure useful items in the boot are boxed away and secured.

Give Your Taxi a Maintenance Once Over

A health check might not seem terribly romantic, but for your taxi a quick once over at its oil level, washer fluids and tyre pressures shows plenty of due care and attention. Get them topped up or replaced and your taxi will reward the kindness with a smoother drive.

Use Plenty of Lube...

...on the door hinges, of course. Those rear doors will see plenty of action over time, so keep them in good working order with a spritz of WD-40 and a touch of grease to keep them swinging for longer.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
My meter keeps running,
But my engine revs for you...
