MGS5, MGS6, IM5 and IM6 Strengthen MG's Taxi Centre Line-Up
The introduction of four brand-new models – the MGS5, the MGS6, the IM5 and IM6 - has seen MG bolster its award-winning range at The Taxi Centre.
Launched as part of a major new model offensive for the Chinese-owned, British-engineered brand, the four distinct models form part of a Taxi Centre line-up that also includes the all-electric MG4 and the petrol/PHEV MG HS.
Two new SUVs lead MG’s refreshed 2026 Taxi Centre range, headed up by the MGS5 EV, which replaces the popular MG ZS EV, a model that earned affection in the UK – among taxi drivers and the general population – for offering penny-pinching running costs in a practical and good value package.
Range of up to almost 300-miles with the Long Range 64kWh battery is possible, while there is 453-litres of boot space. The floor is also moveable for added versatility, while expert packaging means there is a vast amount of room for five passengers in the cabin.
For more range and space, the larger MGS6 satisfies the brief for a practical, thoughtfully designed taxi that will give fares plenty of room to relax.
Key to the MGS6’s appeal is its huge cabin space, not least the boot which is an enormous 674-litres with the seats up. Equipped with a 77kWh battery, the MGS6 is good for 329-miles of range, while all models brim with standard kit.
For taxi drivers seeking something more upmarket, MG have also introduced its new luxury sub-brand IM to the UK.
The first two models from this spin-off are the electric IM5 and IM6, which take direct aim at models like the Tesla Model 3 and Tesla Model Y respectively.
Boasting sleek, svelte designs that will pop on the taxi rank, the IM5 and IM6 are brimming with cutting-edge technology and comfort orientated features.
With soothing interiors dominated by two infotainment screens – including a main 26.3-inch dashtop mounted screen – the IM5 and IM6 offer taxi drivers the lap of luxury while keeping their running costs appealingly low.
